This last time, we left Bruce alone with this humidifier and he was able to peel off his old skin without any assistance, thanks to this humidifier keeping the humidity level up. We usually give him a lukewarm bath when he is near the end of his shed to help moisten up his skin and make it easier for him to peel off.
